SSU LECTURER TOOK PART IN ERASMUS+ INFORMATION DAY
On October 4, an information day organized on ERASMUS+ at Teaching Therapeutic Clinic of Azerbaijan Medical University.
The main purpose of the event was informing representatives of higher education institutions about opportunities of ERASMUS+ program for Azerbaijani universities and current programs (Erasmus Mundus, HORIZON 2020, Jean Monnet).
Head of higher education sector of Ministry of Education Yashar Omarov notified that the essence of ERASMUS+ program is relevant to strategic targets of Ministry. He said, “As the main principles of Bologna process is internationalization of education, Ministry of Education within this target tries to strengthen integration of our education to European education space and expand international relations of universities. Along with it, provision of student mobility and their participation in the programs and application of international practice to curriculum are among our goals. Thus, several state programs in this context are being carried out by Ministry of Education”.
Representative of National ERASMUS+ Office Parviz Baghirov delivered report about the role of ERASMUS+ program and National ERASMUS+ Office and gave information about present novelties.
He noted that National ERASMUS+ Office implements ERASMUS+ program in our country by support of European Commission, Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) and national authorities.
Afterwards there were given information about application of Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education (CBHE) program in Azerbaijan, as well as about novel programs, their main directions and application rules. Several university representatives spoke about their participation in ERASMUS+ program.
It should be noted that ERASMUS+ program gives opportunity to 4 million people to study, gain experience and work voluntarily in foreign countries.
Head of the International Cooperation Department PhD in history Samira Mammadova represented Sumgayit State University in the event.
