From July 14 to 21, the Summer School “Travel to the Land of Fire Azerbaijan” was held at Sumgayit State University, organized by the support of the Ministry of Education and initiative of the Association of Russian-Azerbaijani Universities. As part of the Summer School, various seminars, meetings, round tables, and excursions were held. The students got acquainted with the historical and architectural monuments of our country, its nature and national cuisine.

On July 20, the closing ceremony of the Summer School “Travel to the Land of Fire Azerbaijan” took place in the “Sham” recreation center in Sumgayit.

The event was opened by the rector professor Elkhan Huseynov. He welcomed the guests and thanked Education Minister Jeyhun Bayramov for his support and assistance in conducting the Summer School. The rector stressed that the Summer School, held within the framework of the Association of Russian-Azerbaijani Universities, will make a worthy contribution to the expansion of cooperation between our countries. Along with the fact that the School contributed to the expansion of knowledge and skills of its young participants, it also created ample opportunities for them to become familiar with the history and culture of Azerbaijan. Having visited the universities of the Republic, the participants of the Summer School found new friends and the opportunity to share their experiences.

Then Rector Elkhan Huseynov presented the participants certificates and valuable gifts.

The participants of the Summer School thanked the co-chairs of the Association for organization of the Summer School.

It should be noted that about 70 students from universities of the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan took part in the Student Summer School, which was held on July 14-21, 2019.
