THE EVENT HELD AT CHEMISTRY AND BIOLOGY FACULTY ON OCCASION OF REPUBLIC DAY
On May 27, the event was held at Chemistry and biology faculty on occasion of 28 May Republic Day.
At first, state anthem of Azerbaijan Republic was sounded in the event.
Deputy dean of Chemistry and biology faculty Sabir Alakbarov launched the event and congratulated everyone on this occasion. He said: “The most precious wealth of every people is their state independence. Azerbaijani nation gained it twice in XX century. Azerbaijani people were released from colonial subjection of tsarist Russia which lasted more than a century, on May 28, 1918 and founded first democratic republic of East. Despite a short life of 23 months, first activities of the republic had significant impacts on establishment of the independent statehood bases and determining future improvement”.
Head of the Department of Chemistry and its teaching methods Musa Mustafayev, docent of the Department of Azerbaijani and Eastern European nations’ history Amirkhan Isayev and students delivered speech and spoke about the services of national leader Heydar Aliyev in studying the history of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and delivering the information to people about ADR. It was noted that the Republic founded national statehood traditions for XX century East, which is the glorious page of our history, logical consequence of national freedom struggle and has an important role in our present statehood history.
