On February 28, the following training on “Base of Azerbaijani woman’s achievements – Great leader Heydar Aliyev” was held at Heydar Aliyev Center of Sumgayit State University.

Rector of University Professor Elkhan Huseynov launched the event with welcome speech, spoke about leading role of the women in our society and noted: “Azerbaijani woman has gained the chance to participate as an active member of democratic society established in our independent Republic. Care and attention to woman was always particular direction of Heydar Aliyev policy and that policy is successfully carried out by President Ilham Aliyev. The women contribute to the improvement of socio-economic, scientific-intellectual potential of the country and advancement of the culture by actively participating in state building and socio-political life of the country. The activity of women in education is especially remarkable. The activity of first vice-president of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva is a model in learning historical and cultural heritage of Azerbaijani people and disseminating our culture. She is a sample of Azerbaijani woman with her services and is highly appreciated in international arena”.

The following people delivered presentation in the event: head of Department of Azerbaijani and foreign countries’ literature, professor, honored journalist Avtandil Mammadov – “Base of Azerbaijani woman’s achievements – National leader Heydar Aliyev”, head of Department of Chemistry and its teaching methods docent Musa Mustafayev – “Woman factor in state policy of Ilham Aliyev”, professor of Department of Chemistry and its teaching methods, honored teacher Mukhtar Samadov – “The lady who became the symbol of Azerbaijani woman – Mehriban Aliyeva in state administration”, senior lecturer of the Department of Philosophy, sociology and political sciences , PhD in philosophy, deputy dean of History and geography faculty Osman Hajiyev – “Successful gender policy in the Republic of Azerbaijan”, second course student of Philology faculty Ramaya Mustafayeva – “The role of IDEA Public Unity in socio-political life of Azerbaijan”. They spoke about the role of women in the society and family in developing and preserving national and spiritual values of our nation. Gender policy in Azerbaijan has been founded by Heydar Aliyev and is being continued by Ilham Aliyev. The President is sensitive to gender problems. As a result of the gender policy, equal opportunities in all spheres of public life have been created for women. The Orders have been adopted by President Ilham Aliyev since 2006 about gender equality and preventing domestic violence. All these works support women to take part in various spheres of society.
