“GENERAL HISTORY” SUBJECT CABINET SET UP
Reconstruction works, performed since 2014 at Sumgayit State University are successfully proceeded. New scientific-research laboratories, Linguistic Center and subject cabinets are set up for creating conditions to students to improve their knowledge and gain qualitative education. As a continuation of these works “General history” subject cabinet set up at History and Geography faculty. The cabinet consists of 4 historical periods with 4 stands: ancient, Medieval, new and contemporary period. The topics of cabinet’s stands determined according to the subjects taught in the specialty of History.
Ancient history consists of 9 principal subjects: Egypt, Mesopotamia; Babylon, Phoenicia; Assyria, Anatolia-Het; Ancient Turks; China; India; Greece; Macedonia and Rome.
Ancient period is composed of 12 subjects: Great migration of peoples; European states in an early feudal period; Kiev Russian state; Centralized Russian state; Creation of Islam and Arab caliphate; Turkish countries in early feudal period; Seljuks; Crusades, Ottoman Empire, Mongolian Empire; The Golden Horde state, Timurid Empire, Europe in feudal monarchy period, Great geographical discoveries and Renaissance culture.
New period consists of 9 subjects: England, France, Germany, Austria-Hungary Empire; Italian Kingdom, Ottoman Empire, Russia, United States of America, Industrial revolution and I World War.
Contemporary period consists of 15 subjects: USSR, Russia, Germany, France, Great Britain, United States of America, II World War, Cold War; Turkey, South, South-East and Eastern Europe, Near and Middle East, Pakistan; India, Far East, Latin America, Scientific-Technical development.
The subjects are displayed according to scientific conception with chronological sequence.
The subject cabinet is rich in terms of information carrier, reflecting substantial events of all historical periods and it is tastefully designed.
Created circumstances at the University serve to education of students and are the part of reconstruction works, which will continue in the future.
